Terms and conditions

Last updated 6 November 2026

These terms apply to all work we do, in our garage and at your home or workplace. They sit alongside your legal rights as a consumer, which nothing here takes away. Please read them before you book.

1. Who we are

AutoGlowGalway is a registered business name (no. 774421) with its place of business at Caherbriskaun, Athenry, Co. Galway, H65 AT21, Ireland. Phone and WhatsApp: 087 397 7746. Email: support@autoglow.ie. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean AutoGlowGalway, and “you” means the person booking the work.

2. Prices, quotes and estimates

  • Prices on our website are guide prices. They are not an offer, because the cost depends on your vehicle.
  • Before we start any work, we give you a written quote. WhatsApp, text, email or paper all count. It shows the price for labour and parts and includes VAT where it applies.
  • A quote is valid for 14 days unless we say otherwise. Part prices can change after that.
  • If we find more work is needed once we start, we stop, explain, show you the problem and give you the extra price. We only continue if you say yes.
  • A diagnostic fee covers our time finding the fault. It’s credited against the repair if you book the repair with us.

3. Bookings, call-outs and cancellations

  • Garage visits: appointments are preferred. Walk-ins are welcome when we have space.
  • Call-outs: we confirm the call-out price before we travel. Jobs that need a lift or heavy equipment (for example engine, head gasket, clutch, timing belt, exhaust and bodywork) are done at our garage, and we will tell you before we travel if your job can’t be done at your address.
  • For call-outs we need a safe, level place to work and access to the vehicle. For valeting we may need access to water and power, which we will agree with you. You confirm you are entitled to have the work done at that address, for example because you own it or have the owner’s or landlord’s permission.
  • We take care to protect the area where we work. We aren’t responsible for marks on driveways, paving or other surfaces caused by fluids leaking from your vehicle, or where the surface was unsuitable for the equipment, unless we were careless.
  • Weather: outdoor work may be moved if conditions are unsafe or unsuitable.
  • Cancellations: please give at least 24 hours’ notice. If we travel to you and can’t do the work because the vehicle or address isn’t available, we may charge the call-out fee.

4. Your vehicle

  • You bring your vehicle to our garage and collect it from there. We do not drive customers’ vehicles on public roads. For call-outs we work on the vehicle where it is parked.
  • You confirm you are the owner of the vehicle or authorised to book work on it. You are responsible for the vehicle being taxed, insured and roadworthy for any journey to and from our garage.
  • Please tell us about any known faults, warning lights and previous repairs, and give us any codes or keys we need, such as the locking wheel nut key and radio code.
  • We may refuse or stop work on a vehicle that we believe is unsafe or unlawful to work on.
  • Please remove valuables and personal items. Anything left in a vehicle is left at your own risk. Vehicles and keys left outside our opening hours, or in places we haven’t agreed, are left at the owner’s risk to the extent the law allows.

5. Payment

Payment is due when the work is finished and before the vehicle leaves, unless we agree otherwise in writing. We will tell you which payment methods we accept when we send your quote. For specially ordered parts we may ask for a deposit, and we’ll tell you before you commit. If an invoice stays unpaid, we may keep the vehicle until it is paid, as the law allows.

6. Parts and old parts

  • We use good-quality new parts unless you agree to used or reconditioned parts.
  • We show you the replaced parts or photos of them, and return them on request, except exchange parts and hazardous waste.
  • You can supply your own parts and we will fit them for the labour price. We can’t take responsibility for the quality of parts you supply. If a customer-supplied part is faulty or wrong, we may charge to refit.

7. Collection and storage

Please collect your vehicle within 3 working days of our message that it’s ready. If it’s still with us 7 days after that written notice, we may charge a storage fee of €10 per day. If you can’t collect in time, tell us and we’ll work something out. If a vehicle is left uncollected after reasonable notice, we may take the steps the law allows to recover our charges.

8. Safety advice and your decisions

  • If we find something that affects safety, we’ll tell you and may record it in your quote or message. If you decide not to have a recommended safety repair done, you accept responsibility for that decision, and we aren’t responsible for problems that result from it.
  • After work on wheels, brakes, steering or suspension, please re-check the wheel nuts after about 50 to 100 km, and tell us about any new noise, vibration or change in how the vehicle feels.
  • A service, check or pre-NCT check is not a certificate of roadworthiness. You remain responsible for the legal condition of your vehicle.
  • Diagnosis is based on the symptoms, tests and information available at the time. Some faults come and go and can’t always be found straight away.

9. Our work

We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. If you think something isn’t right, tell us as soon as you can and let us look at it before anyone else works on it. See section 16. This doesn’t affect your legal rights.

10. Valeting and detailing

  • We inspect the vehicle first and note existing damage such as scratches, chips, peeling lacquer, loose trim and worn upholstery. We’re not responsible for damage that was already there or that cleaning reveals.
  • Some stains, smells, scratches and swirl marks can’t be fully removed.
  • Heavily soiled interiors (for example mould, heavy pet hair, smoke damage, bodily fluids or sharp objects) may need a surcharge. We’ll agree it with you before we start.
  • Sealants and coatings need time to cure. Please follow our aftercare advice.
  • Headlight restoration improves clarity, but results vary, some lenses can’t be restored, and yellowing can return over time.

11. Motorbikes

These terms apply to motorbikes too. Please make sure the bike is safe to move, tell us about any known faults, and remove luggage and valuables. Riding gear and accessories are left at your own risk.

12. NCT pre-check

The pre-NCT check is a visual and basic functional check of common NCT items, complimentary with any booking. We cannot guarantee that a vehicle will pass the NCT, because test centres’ equipment and judgements can differ and some tests, such as emissions, are not covered by our check.

13. Modifications and legality

We only fit parts that are legal for road use. We don’t remove or disable emissions equipment such as DPFs, EGR valves or catalytic converters, and we don’t fit exhausts that make a vehicle unlawful. You’re responsible for telling your insurer about any modifications.

14. Responsibility for loss or damage

  • We carry out our work with reasonable care and skill. Where we are legally responsible for damage to your vehicle, our responsibility is limited to the reasonable cost of repairing it, up to its market value.
  • We are not responsible for: personal items or valuables left in a vehicle; faults or damage that already existed or that come from wear, age or corrosion; work or parts that were not supplied or carried out by us; damage that follows our advice being ignored; fixings or components that break despite reasonable care because they were already seized, rusted or weakened; or delay, loss of use or other indirect losses such as lost earnings, hire costs or missed appointments, to the extent the law allows.
  • Please inspect your vehicle when you collect it, or when we finish at your address, and tell us straight away about anything you’re concerned about.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

15. Your legal rights

If you’re a consumer, the law requires us to provide services with reasonable care and skill, and to charge a reasonable price where none was agreed. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

16. Complaints

If something isn’t right, please tell us as soon as you can on 087 397 7746, by WhatsApp or at support@autoglow.ie. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within two working days and work with you to put it right.

If we can’t resolve it, you can contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission consumer helpline on 01 402 5555, or use the small claims procedure for claims of €2,000 or less.

17. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version on our website when you book applies to your job. These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland.
